Editorial Policy

Editorial Policy

Last updated: 25 September 2026

Nathan Theodore publishes short-form reporting, explainers, and analysis on world affairs, Africa, travel, cryptocurrency, technology, food, politics, and related subjects. This Editorial Policy explains how we research, write, label, and update that work.

Our goal is to give readers clear, timely, and useful information. We aim for accuracy first. Speed never excuses a sloppy fact.

Independence

Editorial decisions belong to Nathan Theodore. Advertisers, sponsors, sources, and readers do not buy the right to dictate what we cover or how we frame a story.

If a piece is paid for, provided by a partner, or written in exchange for consideration of any kind, we will label it clearly as sponsored, partner, or advertising content. Labeled commercial content is not editorial content.

What we publish

Most articles on this site are brief explainers or news summaries intended to be read in one or two minutes. They may include:

  • Factual roundups of public events and official statements.

  • Context and analysis that help a general reader understand why a development matters.

  • Practical guides, such as travel or food explainers.

  • Market and technology coverage, including cryptocurrency.

Where an article states an opinion or interpretation, we will make that plain in the wording. Analysis is not the same thing as verified fact. We will not present speculation as confirmed reporting.

Sourcing and attribution

We rely on primary sources when they are available: official statements, public data, court or legislative records, and on-the-record comments. Secondary sources (other news organizations, research groups, and subject-matter experts) are used to provide context.

We attribute claims that are not common knowledge. If a story rests on a single source, we say so or we hold the story. We do not invent quotations. We do not hide the origin of statistics.

When we summarize another outlet's reporting, we credit that outlet. Aggregation is not a license to copy another publisher's work.

Accuracy and updates

Writers and editors check names, dates, figures, titles, and locations before publication. Market figures, vote totals, casualty counts, and similar numbers can change quickly. When they do, we update the article and note the change when the correction is material.

If a published article contains a significant error, we follow our Corrections Policy.

Conflicts of interest

Staff and contributors must disclose financial, personal, or political interests that a reasonable reader would want to know about, including holdings in a company or digital asset that is the subject of a story. We will not assign or publish coverage that is written to promote a writer's private position.

Gifts, paid trips, and preferential access that could reasonably be seen to influence coverage will be declined or disclosed.

Cryptocurrency, markets, and practical guides

Coverage of Bitcoin, other digital assets, travel, food, and technology is informational. It is not personalized advice. We do not promise returns, safety, or outcomes. Price data and product details can be wrong by the time a reader sees them. Readers should verify figures and seek qualified professional advice before making financial, legal, or travel decisions. See our Disclaimer.

Use of artificial intelligence

We may use software tools, including artificial intelligence, to assist with research, outlines, headlines, or first drafts. Every article published under the Nathan Theodore name is reviewed by a human editor before it goes live. AI tools do not relieve us of the duty to check facts, sources, and fairness.

We will not knowingly publish AI-generated images or quotes presented as real photographs or real speech.

Fairness and sensitive subjects

We cover politics, conflict, and social issues. We will not traffic in rumors, fabricated documents, or dehumanizing language. We give people and institutions a fair chance to respond when they are the subject of a critical allegation that we can reasonably reach them about before publication.

We take extra care with stories involving children, victims of violence, and people at risk.

Comments and reader submissions

Readers may leave comments where that feature is enabled, and may send tips, questions, or corrections through our Contact page. Comments are not editorial content. We may remove comments that are unlawful, abusive, spam, or off topic. Submission of a tip does not guarantee publication.

Questions

Questions about this policy, a specific article, or our standards can be sent through the Contact form at https://nathantheodore.com/contact. Use that form for tips and corrections as well.
