Standard Chartered Bank (Singapore) Limited announced on October 8, 2026, its intention to provide digital asset custody services in Singapore for selected cryptoassets, stablecoins, and tokenised real-world assets (RWAs).

The planned offering targets institutional clients and accredited investor corporate clients and remains subject to applicable regulatory requirements. It will complement the bank’s existing Financing & Securities Services capabilities, integrating traditional asset servicing, tokenisation, and digital asset custody under one framework.

This move extends Standard Chartered’s digital asset custody presence, which already includes operations in the United Arab Emirates, Luxembourg, and Hong Kong. The Singapore service aims to support clients across broader asset lifecycles, from safeguarding conventional assets to custody of tokenised versions within an institutional-grade environment.

Patrick Lee, CEO of Singapore and CEO of ASEAN & South Asia at Standard Chartered, stated that Singapore represents an important centre for financial innovation with growing demand for trusted digital asset solutions. He noted that robust infrastructure will be essential for the secure movement, safekeeping, and servicing of tokenised assets at institutional scale.

The announcement aligns with broader efforts by the bank to develop regulated digital asset capabilities across key financial centres.
