Russian forces launched widespread overnight attacks on Ukrainian industrial facilities and energy infrastructure, killing at least three people and leaving nearly 100,000 residents without power in some areas.
The strikes hit multiple regions, including the Dnipropetrovsk region encompassing Dnipro, Pavlohrad, and Kryvyi Rih. In Dnipro, three people were killed and six others wounded when missiles, drones, and artillery damaged business and warehouse premises, according to regional Governor Oleksandr Hanzha.
Ukraine’s air force reported that the barrage involved 212 drones, four cruise missiles, and an unspecified number of Oniks antiship and ballistic missiles.0
The attacks occurred as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in New York for the United Nations General Assembly, where discussions on ending the war are expected to feature prominently among nearly 130 heads of state.
Zelenskyy posted on X that a “drone deal” was ready to be signed to bolster air defense and secure funding for the war effort.
