The Bitter Truth

Schools are not reopening. It appears that will be the most likely outcome for most schools this fall. I wanted to be wrong. But once I saw how poorly this situation had been handled. I KNEW the kids would not return to school, at least in the fall. 

A few weeks, my mother and I even found ourselves war-gaming the type of tutoring/house cleaner/assistant job I might create for my home. 

I Am So Disappointed

Last night I broke down. I am so disappointed with how poorly we as a nation we have handled this pandemic. I am beyond angry at our political leaders and professionals who seem to have fumbled on one scenario where fumbling is the worst and last outcome.

For sure, I may be inconvenienced with changes to my routine, my life, schooling for my son, the health of loved ones who may be compromised, worried about my little, insular world.  

People Died Needlessly

However, without adding to the rhetoric, I assess this situation as that, may be so many people who have suffered and died, did so needlessly.  Maybe for them, it should not have been now, not like this.

This isn’t forever. It will soon be over

In the back of my mind, I keep thinking I’ll be able to fall back into my old routines, that we all will. And every day I re-experience frustrations, fears, inconveniences, and doubts generated by the reality that we will not.
