▶ Wonderful Sweden! Almost Too Good For A Restless Soul.
“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page… Wonderful Sweden”
– St. Augustine
Have you been to Sweden before?
Have you been to Sweden before? If you haven’t then I guess you have been missing a lot. Amongst all the countries I have visited, I can say that Sweden is one quiet and pleasant country I would recommend to any traveler seeking to cool off in a foreign land. Prior to my trip, I did a little research about this country but guess what? When I got there, I was amazed. Everywhere was more beautiful than I had imagined. The airport, roads, buildings were so lovely. Everyone who has ever visited Sweden confessed that they were charmed by Swedish culture and natural beauty.
As a tourist, I have visited countries whose residents were unwelcoming to visitors but the Swedish are very hospitable and communicative. Swedish is the common language spoken however some of the residents also understand English. As a visitor, you might come across people who don’t understand English. In that case, it is best to learn the basic Swedish phrases like “tack själv!” which means “thank you”. To ask the price of an item you can say “hur mycket säljer du den här artikeln?”
Sweden has beautiful and affordable hotels.
Although, the country isn’t the cheapest that is why you should have a budget. On average, a visitor might spend between 50 to 100 dollars daily for accommodation and feeding. During the few days I spent in Stockholm, I noticed that the residents love to have fun but that is always done moderately. There are many bars and restaurants where you can purchase beer, coffee, and different delicious cuisines. When I tasted their Raggmunk and Lingonberries dish, it was so sumptuous that I had to order for extra. I also loved their Marinated Salmon with dill potatoes, Crispbread, and Gubbrora traditional dish. What about the Swedish beer? It tends to be much lighter and perfect for everyone.
The country is surrounded by thousands of peaceful and relaxing islands on all of its coasts. During the summer, these sites serve as attraction centers for locals and visitors. My trip to Sweden would have been incomplete if I didn’t do some island hopping. I toured around Kosterhavet, which is the country’s first marine park located on Koster Islands. You will find Sweden’s only coral reef here and I can say this island is very beautiful and worth exploring.
I’m making plans on traveling to this country once again as soon as the pandemic is over. On my next visit, I hope to visit Swedish Lapland and the Uppsala which is the religious center of Sweden. I am sure that it would be an exciting experience.
